Reena was born in Edmonton and, from a young age, knew she cared about mental health and systems of oppression. She founded the BIPOC Healing and Wellness Centre to support racialized clients in grief and other concerns. She voices that there is racial battle fatigue, relational harm, and it is important to intentionally stay connected through collective healing.

Reena Samra (she/her), is a South Asian Registered Social Worker, trauma therapist and the Founder of the BIPOC Healing and Wellness Centre. She works with racialized adults, youth, and couples navigating identity, relationships, grief, and the impacts of intergenerational trauma and systemic oppression. Her approach is relational, warm, and holistic, supporting clients in reconnecting with their mind, body, emotions, and inner voice beyond the roles and expectations they have carried. Reena integrates culturally responsive, anti-racist, intersectional feminist, trauma-informed and decolonizing approaches to care, with a strong focus on racial trauma, complex trauma, and collective healing. As a founder, she is committed to creating safer, justice-oriented spaces where Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour can feel seen, understood, and supported as their whole selves. She also offers clinical supervision and consultation for practitioners seeking a reflective, anti-oppressive practice.
